A pilot scheme by Onlincolnshire to bring superfast broadband to 90% of the county by 2016 has launched.
People living in rural areas may have previously struggled to manage day-to-day routines and business management due to limited or no broadband coverage.
Over the next few years, Lincolnshire postcodes will be able to enjoy improved efficiency, better connections and exposure to an expanding global market.
The pilots scheme comes after Onlincolnshire managed to secure approval and funding for its improved broadband rollout from central government last year.
Services and wireless technology will be provided by partners ABInternet.
In a video published on October 24, Managing Director of AB Internet Darren Round said: “Wireless is very cheap to deploy, it’s very fast, it’s very stable and it’s very robust.
“With the Wolds down the spine of the county and the flat areas, Lincolnshire lends itself particularly well to wireless.”
Lincolnshire County Council have been at the forefront of the project, spearheading the way forward.
