Siemens Lincoln marked the official opening of its new gas turbine facility at Teal Park on Wednesday, and The Lincolnite went on a tour of the centre.
Feilden House will be home to Siemens world class gas turbine overhaul facility that is driven by lean processes. It is a purpose built environment developed to enable Siemens service business to deliver on-going service excellence its customers.
Siemens also aimed for the highest environmental standards in building design with developer St Modwen. Fielden House has achieved the BREAM “excellence” rating, making it one of only a small number of buildings to achieve this accreditation in the UK, and the first in Lincolnshire.
The building includes photovoltaic panels on the workshop roof and controlled lighting for efficient energy management. Siemens is also applying the principles of sustainable transport, and has included car sharing and its own electric car and cycle charging points into the complex.
